David Chedgy has spent the last 24 years working in the city of London at two of the largest investment banks (Citi Bank) and brokerage houses (ICAP) in the world. After a reasonably successful career - first as an equities trader, and then as an equity derivatives broker he left, at the age of 45, to travel around the World for 6 months with his Wife, Natasha and 2 young children. Now, in the fortunate position of being financially independent they have returned to their main passion of health and fitness, running a Pilates and Personal Training studio near Sandbanks in Dorset, whilst enjoying the lifestyle they always dreamed of.

During his time in London, David played rugby for Harlequins and Saracens before injuries cut his playing career short (dodgy hamstrings!!) and taking the more traditional path in to finance. He has a degree in Physics from Loughborough University, and is a qualified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutritionist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

The Escape Plan is for the people out there feeling trapped, or struggling to keep their head above water within the modern workplace, and want to create a healthy balance between career and lifestyle whilst implementing a successful financial plan for the future.

If you feel like you're stuck in the rat race and want to bring about change in some way, whether it's to get your finances in order, lose some weight or generally want to regain control of your own destiny, this is the blog for you.

We will give practical tips on how to remain fit and healthy both mentally and physically, and manage personal finances and investments through first-hand experience, in order to put in place a viable and successful escape plan (whether this is to set up a new business, have a change of career, or just take a break from the ‘norm’).

Throw away your financial 'guru' books that don’t give you an actual solution (and bore the pants off you!); unsubscribe from your quick fix diet emails that do not work; and burn your health and fitness magazines that don’t actually tell you what you really want to know about working a 45 hour week, occasionally binge drinking and still staying fit and healthy.

The Escape Plan was created to provide a 'one-stop shop' that cuts through all the BS out there regarding financial investment and the health and fitness industry, to create a free resource that normal people can use and practically apply in the real world. Both David and Natasha were state educated, had no prior connections or networks to the city or investment world and never received any assistance, financial or otherwise. They are effectively able to bring together all the topics covered by The Escape Plan after being involved for more than two decades in finance and investment, both playing sport at a very high level, eating, sleeping and breathing the health and fitness industry over that time, and most importantly carrying out their own successful escape plan.

Follow the plan, choose your destination, and escape...

And on a serious note:
